Ben Fulton is Managing Director of AXS Investments and oversees Global Business Development for the firm. Mr. Fulton is a longtime asset management executive and described as one of the founders of the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry. He has been contributing to the definitive history of the global financial services industry for over 35 years as a groundbreaker in the creation and widespread adoption of innovative investment products and structures for individual and institutional investors globally.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Fulton launched over 200 new ETFs and other innovative investment products, accounting for approximately $150 billion in current combined assets today.
As Managing Director at AXS, Mr. Fulton is pioneering a new chapter in asset management through product innovation and strategic initiatives with some of the world's largest and most influential investment management and research firms.
Mr. Fulton's trailblazing work includes his well-known tenure with PowerShares Capital Management, where he oversaw product development and was later head of the Global ETF Business for Invesco. Mr. Fulton was a driving force behind Invesco's AUM growth from less than $200 million to over $80 billion. His inventive work included the development, launch and unprecedented scale of the firm’s U.S. ETF business, as well as the highly successful creation and growth of its UCITS platform offered throughout Europe, Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
Among Mr. Fulton’s other notable prior roles was his work as Managing Director of ProShares, where he oversaw $40 billion in assets. Previously, Mr. Fulton was a founding partner of Claymore Securities (now Guggenheim Investments), President and CEO of Elkhorn Investments, Managing Director of Nuveen’s Structured Products Division, and SVP of Nike Securities, L.P. (now First Trust). In these capacities, he oversaw the development, launch and large-scale growth of innovative investment products, including ETFs, mutual funds, closed-end funds, unit investment trusts (UITs), structured investments, and hedge funds.
Credited with seven “ETF of the Year” awards, Mr. Fulton also has received numerous other industry honors and tributes for his role in bringing dozens of first-of-their-kind funds to market. He is a frequent commentator on financial media outlets such as CNBC and Bloomberg.
Mr. Fulton received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Taylor University. He resides in Park City, Utah and also enjoys time in Wheaton, Illinois, where he and his wife, Beth, have raised six children.
