They occupy a legal middle ground between strictly for-profit publicly traded companies and not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. To become certified, B Corp businesses must achieve a minimum score across a range of areas, including environmental, social, and legal standards, as well as transparency and accountability requirements. Return on Investment (ROI) is a performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment by calculating the amount of return on a particular investment relative to the investment’s cost.
